Barcelona's new science museum, the CosmoCaixa is located at the barceloneta district. Established in 2005, it has since attracted 2 million visitors a year. Cosmo Caixa is hugely popular with kids and a must visit place for families. The museum is an educational and has plenty of fun interactive games for kids to indulge themselves info for the day!
CosmoCaixa Barcelona is of an enormous size and has a really cool innovative layout. There are plenty of exhibitions throughout the museum, including the Amazon Forest, the Geological Wall and Planetarium. Exhibitions and a range of activities are both temporary and permanent, making it all more enticing to visit again and again. The most unique and fascinating permanent fixture is the ‘Chamber of Matter’ a trilling room covering the evolution of matter and life on our planet.
Nearby local attractions include the telecommunications tower (Torre de Collserola), Cosmocaxia Science Musuem, Tamarita Gardens and most prominently the Catholic Church Temple de Sagrat Cor.
Tibidabo famously featured in the Woody Allen movie ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’. Nearby hotels includes the Gullermo Tell, Palauet Tres Torres, and the Hotel Via Augusta.
Its reachable to visitors by either taking the railway, bus or car. For train use, take the Ferrocarrils train line L7 at Plaza Catalunya, Provenza or Gracia and stop at Av Tibidado station. From Tibidao, then avail use of the old
Tramvia Blau up the hill.
Shuttle bus services are available all day from Plaza Catalunya.
