Museu de la Xocolata, chocolate museum show the history of chocolate in Europe, its origins, how it came to Europe, chocolate as medicine and the manufacturing of chocolate. The Chocolate Museum was founded by the Barcelona Confectioney Guild in 2000 in a former convent. It occupies a small plaza in El Born, with an entrance near Arc de Triomf It is one of the smaller museums in Barcelona, however nonetheless the chocolate museum is just as fascinating and interesting as the rest. A great day out for all the family, particularly the kids.

Every Easter, the museum hosts the annual Mona contest. Monas stand for sculptures of famous buildings, people or cartoon characters.
