The National Museum of Catalan Art (MNAC) is the most important museum to visit in the city due to number and quality of art work on display. It features the best collection of Romanesque mural painting in the world and is located in a magnificent Nacional palace on Montjuic opposite to the fountains of Monjuic. MNAC has an extensive collection of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance arts from 11th to the 20th century, making it a reference museum.
