Barcelona Zoological Park is a very popular attraction for tourists, families and residents alike and is most definitely a cheap day out. It’s situated at Parc de la Ciutadella in the Barceloneta region, nearby other touristy locations such as Arc de Triomf, the Natural Science Museum and Catalan Parliament building.

Barcelona Zoo is rated as one of the best in Spain, attracting over 1 million visitors a year. Founded in 1892 it is one of oldest in the world and prides itself having the most modern, humane and animal friendly facilitates. It has opened enclosures allowing visitors to touch animals. There is a Special infant zoo whereby infants and kids can be introduced to animals. If you’re not a fan of walking around, you can rent out a electric buggy or hop on the Zoo’s privately owned mini-train. It offers a wide range of animals, birds and reptiles. A must-see feature at the Zoo is the famous albino gorilla, Snowflake.
